GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: A correctable error has been made by the Alabama High School Athletic Assocation (AHSAA) in regards to the regional basketball playoffs next week.
On the AHSAA website prior to 8:00 a.m. Thursday, the dates for the regional tournament at Wallace State, Jacksonville State, Alabama State and Garrett Coliseum was listed to be between the 12th and 19th of February.
Inside the association's handbook, the schedule was posted for the 11th through the 20th. The Northwest Regional at Wallace State is February 11 through the 18th.
Gameday Weekly contacted the AHSAA via cell phone Thursday morning.
Assistant director Tara Osborne informed GDW what was in the sports handbook was correct.
The AHSAA revised the dates on its website.
Osborne told GDW, their group had received a series of calls and emails when people looked at the handbook and also the website's home page.
Osborne and AHSAA associate executive director Brian McRae were sending out messages to schools on the correct schedule for regional play.
This is the Northwest Regional schedule:
February 11: Class 1A (1st 4), Class 2A (Last 4)
9:00 a.m.
February 12: Class 3A (1st 4), Class 4A (Last 4)
9:00 a.m.
February 13: Class 5A (1st 4), Class 6A (Last 4)
9:00 a.m.
February 14: Class 7A (1st 4), Class 3A (Last 2)
9:00 a.m.
February 17: Class 2A (2), Class 1A (2), Class 5A (2), Class 4A (2) 9:00 a.m.
February 18: Class 7A (2), Class 6A (2)
9:00 a.m.
Girls game will start the regional schedule each day. Championships will be on the 14th for 3A, the 17th for 2A, 1A, 5A and 4A.
The final day on the 18th, champions will be crowned in 7A then 6A.
Admission is $12.00 daily.
WKUL FM (92.1) will broadcast games if local teams qualify from this weekends' sub regional round (Girls on Friday, varsity on Saturday).

The Northwest Regional has been at Wallace State since this format was adopted by the AHSAA in 1994.
