HANCEVILLE: Champions will be crowned from the AHSAA Northwest Regional at Wallace State CC to start this week of playoff basketball.
A first time of 8 title games have been set by the AHSAA to come from Tom Drake Coliseum Monday.
The AHSAA has adjusted tip times for each game on February 23 following the first one that will begin as regularly scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
New championship tip times Monday:
9:00 - Cold Springs vs. Belgreen (G)
10:40 - Cold Springs vs. Red Bay
12:20 - Meek vs. Marion Co (G)
2:00 - Addison vs. Hubbertville
3:40 - West Point vs. Guntersville (G)
5:20 - East Limestone vs. Guntersville
7:30 - Good Hope vs. Wilson (G)
8:40 - West Morgan vs. Deshler
The AHSAA is hoping the games will move along smoothly as each will have a postgame ceremony in naming the all tournament team from each division as well as presenting the regional champion and runner up trophy.
The local games will be carried live on WKUL FM (92.1) with Rich Jesse and Steven Sutter the announcers.
Broadcaster Johnny "Flash" Thornton will be high above the Coliseum floor with the NFHS Network with 5 games in the lead role of play by play announcer.
Jesse will share time with Flash when he is not courtside with the games to be provided locally through WKUL FM.
The schedule for Tuesday the 24th has not changed.

9:00 - Hillcrest Tuscaloosa vs. Bob Jones (G)
10:45 - Thompson vs. Tuscaloosa Co
12:30 - Hazel Green vs. Mortimer Jordan (G)
2:15 - Cullman vs. Lee Huntsville
4:00 - Lauderdale Co vs. Mars Hill (G)
5:45 - Lauderdale Co vs. Mars Hill
The Cullman game will be available on cullmanbearcats.com with Jimmy Dale as play by play announcer.
Flash and Jesse will be high above Tuesday to present the title games for the NFHS Network.
This is the 3rd year the NFHS has selected WKUL's top basketball broadcast team.
Flash and Jesse are delighted for this opportunity as well as what is done by the two from the local standpoint with 4 teams from the Cullman County school system reaching the Elite Eight round in 2026.
Admission is $12.00 per day with a $5.00 parking fee for those who park close to the Coliseum.
