AHSAA has set winter sports reclassification for 2026 thru 2028:

This is the basketball setup with public schools for the AHSAA:

GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) has set its reclassification for winter sports for 2026 through 2028.
The association released this statement Friday afternoon with Gameday Weekly quickly responding with a story.
This is the setup for local basketball in area play by the AHSAA from 2026/27 to 2027/28.
Cold Springs:
Class 2A Area 15 with Carbon Hill, Phil Campbell and Winston Co
Cullman:
Class 5A Area 15 with Arab, Jasper, Hartselle
Fairview:
Class 4A Area 14 with Good Hope, Hayden, West Point
Good Hope:
Class 4A Area 14 with Fairview, Hayden, West Point
Hanceville:
Class 3A Area 13 with Holly Pond, Susan Moore, Vinemont.
Holly Pond:
Class 3A, Area 13 with Hanceville, Susan Moore, Vinemont.
Vinemont:
Class 3A Area 13 with Hanceville, Holly Pond, Susan Moore

 West Point:
Class 4A Area 14 with Fairview, Good Hope, Hayden.
Cullman Christian:
Area 8 of Single A Private with Kingdom Heights, Oakwood Academy, St. Bernard Prep, Whitesburg Christian.
St. Bernard Prep:
Area 8 of Single A Private with Cullman Christian, Kingdom Heights, Oakwood Academy, Whitesburg Christian.
More information will be announced later by the AHSAA in regards to postseason setup.
Regional play is probable to remain in the format with Wallace State to continue to be the host site for the Northwest Regional with the public schools.
This comes after back in late January the AHSAA decided to split the public schools from the private schools for the first time since the athletic association was created a long time ago.
