HANCEVILLE: Something new for Brewer Patriot basketball, a berth into the AHSAA Elite 8.
After their remarkable comeback victory in the sub regional over West Point last Saturday, the Patriots came to Wallace State left their imprint in romping over Arab 64 to 44 in the Northwest Regional.
Now with 24 wins in 30 games and winners of 9 of their past 10 assignments, the Patriots are seeking to move further into the postseason.
A highly anticipated encounter was on display in the first period. Brewer clinged to a 13 to 10 lead.
Thanks to an 18 to 9 advantage in the 2nd, the Patriots carried a 31 to 19 lead to the locker room.

 On a 23 to 14 edge in the 3rd, the Patriots put the game out of reach by leading the Knights 54 to 33.
PG Austyn Holmes hit for 12 for Brewer, Cason Oden 11, Dayton Wilson 10, Jackson Dunn 9 and Bayden Brindley 8.
Arab, a qualifier for this round after a 60 to 58 sub regional upset at Douglas, finishes 13 & 17.
Leading the Knights was Landon Strickland with 17.
  Brewer will play in the regional final Monday at 5:45 p.m. at Tom Drake Coliseum.
