Cullman Bearcats set for rematch with Calera in the Final Four:

BIRMINGHAM: A rematch for the Cullman Bearcats sets the tone in returning to the Class 6A AHSAA Final Four for the first time since 2022 when they were the best at that time in this class.
The Bearcats and Calera Eagles open the 6A semifinal round Wednesday from Legacy Arena at 10:30 a.m.
The game will be carried live on cullmanbearcats.com
Both come in with solid ball clubs in raising the bar of 6A basketball.
Calera is 25 & 5 with a 5 game winning streak. The Eagles took the Central Region title last week in Montgomery by the score of 56 to 50 over Spain Park.
Cullman has gone 26 & 5 in its 5th year with Stu Stuedeman. The Bearcats did not lose in February (6 games) and have enjoyed victory in 7 consecutive assignments.
In the playoffs, Cullman beat Jasper 47 to 43 to win the 6A Area 13 title, edged Hazel Green 55 to 53 in the sub regional, knocked off Clay Chalkville 53 to 41 then Lee Huntsville 80 to 53 from the Northwest Regional at Wallace State.
The Bearcats set a tremendous tone in the regional final against Lee, scoring 46 points in the 2nd half with 13 made threes out of 27 attempts for 48 percent.
Cullman is anchored by PG Sam Dorough who earned regional MVP honors.
Giving him great support was all regional tournament selections SG Gray Hopper and C Brooks Loftin.
Under Stuedeman, Cullman is 130 & 28, averaging 26 victories per season. This program has enjoyed 5 area championships, 2 regional crowns and now playing in the Final Four for the 2nd time in 5 years.
The winner of Cullman/Calera will face the winner of Oxford/Saraland for the state title on Saturday from Legacy Arena.
