Gameday Weekly previews Monday games at county tourney:

Vinemont girls enter the county tourney as a No. 2 seed:

GDW Analysis:
HANCEVILLE: Four games will now take place Monday on Martin Luther King Jr Day at the Cullman County Basketball Tournament.
With concerns from the National Weather Service to issue a cold weather advisory, the tournament went through changing the schedule as now, no games on Wednesday will be played.
A tripleheader in the high school ranks is to be on Monday and Tuesday.

The schedule remains the same for Thursday, Friday and on championship Saturday.
The schedule for January 20 from WSCC:
JV: West Point vs. Fairview 3:00 p.m. Top seed West Point comes on to the Tom Drake Coliseum floor while 4 seed Fairview is fresh off a 42 to 28 win over Holly Pond, outscoring the Broncos 19 to 11 in the 2nd half after having a 23 to 17 lead at the half.

 G: 2 Vinemont vs. 7 Hanceville 4:30 (92.1 FM)
Vinemont is the hottest team locally with a 7 game winning streak. The Lady Eagles played 4 times last week, beating Holly Pond, Pennington, Brewer and St. Bernard.

The Lady Eagles are 18 & 4, 6th in the 3A rank and come into the county tournament in a rare position as the 2nd seed.
Hanceville has seen good times and some rough moments too. The Lady Bulldogs have just 4 wins in their last 11 games and are 8 & 13 for the season. Vinemont defeated Hanceville 74 to 36 January 9 behind a 44 to 12 dominance in the 2nd half.
4 Holly Pond vs. 5 Hanceville 6:00 (92.1 FM)
These two are meeting for the 2nd time in 3 days. Holly Pond rallied from a sluggish 18 to 12 first half deficit Friday at Lane Horton Gymnasium and won 45 to 33.
The Broncos have won 2 in a row while Hanceville is 8 & 14 and just 2 & 4 for January.
G: 4 Fairview vs. 5 Holly Pond 7:30 (92.1 FM)
With 17 wins out of 22 games, Holly Pond has momentum. Fairview has been through a challenging January with 0 wins in 6 games.
Fairview defeated the Lady Broncos early in the season that enabled them to have a 23 & 3 county record with Holly Pond just 2 & 4.
The Lady Aggies have 10 wins for 2nd year coach Chris Nichols, improving after 7 victories were accomplished the season before.
