CCBOE salutes state champions for great success in the AHSAA:

 Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) held its May meeting Monday.
The meeting followed graduation with the 7 high schools going through the process over the weekend from Wallace State Community College.
Gameday Weekly attended the meeting to get the latest on what is going on in the school system through the athletic program.
Superintendent Shane Barnette and board members honored and recognized the West Point Warriors golf team.
The Warriors captured their first AHSAA championship May 13 at Oxmoor Valley CC in Birmingham in Class 5A.
Cold Springs' Lady Eagles track and field squad shared the spotlight with West Point. The Lady Eagles were 1A/2A champions on the weekend of May 3 from Britton Field/Woodard Stadium at Cullman High School.
West Point teacher and basketball coach Mason Voce received an E3 Exceptional award in getting the agenda off and going.

 The board approved a request from Fairview High School to pay George Redding $2,500 for additional coaching duties and field maintenance for summer months, paid by local school football funds.
A request was approved for Holly Pond High School to pay Joseph Pace $500 for extra duties associated with basketball, paid by local school funds.
Approval of request from Vinemont High School to pay Preston Boyd $400, Lance $400 and Kerry Thompson $400 for work on gymnasium floors, paid by local school funds.
The board approved an out of state field trip request by Cold Springs High School for cross country training in Gatlinburg, Tennessee June 25/29.

 Superintendent Barnette reported the final day for school for the current calendar year will be Thursday. Students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m.
The next meeting of the CCBOE is June 12 at 3:30 p.m. in the board's conference room.
