FLORENCE: Good Hope's 8 game winning streak came to a close Tuesday afternoon in the AHSAA North Softball Regional from Florence Sportsplex.
In a winners' bracket semifinal, Hamilton pulled out a 3 to 2 victory. Good Hope had been on a roll with eight straight, winning the 4A, Area 13 title and beating Dora 11 to 1 in the opening round of the regional.
Hamilton put itself in position to play Good Hope in Round 2 following a 5 to 1 defeat of Wilson Tuesday morning.
The Lady Raiders fall to 25/12/1.
Tim Tucker's squad is to return to the Sportsplex Wednesday and play the winner of Cordova vs. Hatton in an elimination bracket game.
Hamilton has reached the winners bracket final. The Lady Aggies are to meet No. 2 ranked Curry in their next game.
Curry clobbered Danville 15 to 0 in the 2nd round.
Danville is in the bottom half of the elimination bracket with the Lady Hawks to face Wilson in the next round.

 This is weather pending as Cullman Weather is reporting an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for Wednesday.
