GDW Analysis:
Under pleasant weather conditions, two counties clashed in the annual Cullman County vs. Marshall County track meet from Cullman's Oliver Woodard Stadium Thursday.
Seven schools were from Cullman County with five representing Marshall County in a series of running and field events.
From the girls' results, Marshall County was superior with Guntersville the winner scoring 144 points, Arab 2nd at 121, Albertville in 3rd at 113, DAR taking 4th at 104.
The best finish by a county group was Cullman 5th at 88 points.
Cullman stood out in the varsity division by edging Guntersville with 123.5 points to 123 for the Wildcats.
Albertville was a distant 3rd at 86 and just ahead of the West Point Warriors who tallied 84 for 4th place.
Arab was on the heels of West Point for 5th in the meet collecting 81 points.
