GDW presents its local all performance softball squad:

GDW's all performance softball team 2025:
    Gameday Weekly has composed its all performance softball team after seeing the locals take to the diamond from early March to early May.
GDW honors those who stood out when covered by the local sports website from regular season play, the Cullman County tournament and postseason presented by the AHSAA.

 Best hitting performance in a game:
    Natalie Miller of Good Hope vs. Danville in 4A, Area 13 championship April 28. Miller was 3 for 3 with a 3 run HR, RBI double, scored 3 runs in 14 to 7 victory.
 
Best pitching performance in a game:
    Molly Benefield of Good Hope vs. West Point in Cullman County championship April 1.
Benefield allowed 1 run, 3 hits, 0 walks, 6 strikeouts in 11 to 1 Lady Raider victory.
 
Best defensive performance in a game:
    SS Kylie Smith of Good Hope vs. Cordova April 21 at Greg Owen Field.
Smith had 1 putout, 5 assists in 7 field chances for a fielding percentage of .850. Good Hope won 8 to 2 to end the regular season with momentum.
 
Best county game of the year:
    Hanceville 17, Vinemont 7 at Vinemont April 18.
Hanceville trailed 7 to 3 when Lady Bulldogs batted in the 6th, erupting for 14 runs on their side of the scoreboard at Gingrich/Turney Field.
The win by Hanceville prevented Vinemont from finishing tied for 1st in 3A, Area 12 with Locust Fork.
Hanceville went 3 & 0 in the area that week.

 Best playoff game of the year:
Good Hope 14 to 7 over Danville in AHSAA 4A, Area 13 championship April 28 at Greg Owen Field.
Good Hope was challenged by Danville this day with the Lady Hawks leading 6 to 3 when Good Hope batted in its half of the 4th inning.
A 10 run rally with a 3 run HR by Natalie Miller and a 2 run single from Molly Benefield getting the top seed off the snide.
The victory gave Tim Tucker's Lady Raiders the area title and sent them into the regional round of the playoffs with a 7 game winning streak.
Good Hope would finish 25/12/1 in 2025.
