Wet weather makes a mess of the Cullman Prestate SB tourney:

Late afternoon rain forces teams off the field at Herritage Park:

GDW Analysis:
A strong shower arrived at Heritage Park by 5:30 p.m. Friday, forcing the participants in the Cullman High School softball pre-state to seek shelter.
The rain and wind made it impossible for teams to try to continue playing.
Each field of the local complex was active with its 4:30 p.m. schedule the time bad weather arrived.
Within 30 minutes, the rain had subsided with each field soaked, needing time to dry out.
The games that were scheduled for the rest of the evening from Heritage Park were stopped by Cullman athletic director Mike Dean and Heritage Park representative Mike Bates.
Gameday Weekly was informed by Cullman softball assistant Tiffani Schwaiger that games were to be moved to the Cullman High campus for the facility is now field turf.
Cullman was to play Russellville and Brookwood in the rest of its Friday schedule.
Other games were to be played possibly later in the evening too.
Following games being played when rain came:
Field 1 - West Point vs. Scottsboro
Field 2 - Hartselle vs. Mortimer Jordan
Field 3 - Decatur Heritage vs. Westminster Chr
Field 4 - Cold Springs vs. JB Pennington
Field 5 - Russellville vs, Brookwood.
Cold Springs was winning 8 to 4 in the top of the 5th with the time limit almost up.
The games were being played by a time limit of 1 hour, 10 minutes.
Scottsboro was leading West Point 3 to 1, Hartselle was ahead of Mortimer Jordan 2 to 1 GDW was able to learn when the games went into a delay.
The 4:30 p.m. session was a full slate of games with others scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (4), 7:30 p.m. (3) and 9:00 p.m. (2).
Cold Springs was scheduled to play Saturday at Cullman High vs. Southeastern 1:00 p.m. and Madison County 2:30 p.m.
The rest of the schedule is undetermined when GDW posted this story after 7:00 p.m. Friday.
