Brothers take the state spotlight on golf

WKUL FM PREP SPOTLIGHT:

Week of June 05, 2023

By Johnny Thornton (Gameday Weekly)

Bailey Sutter & Rawlin Sutter of West Point High School golf are the talk of the town. These two talented siblings have been making waves on the links and recently finished their 2023 season in the spotlight of AHSAA golf from the 5A state tournament at the Robert Trent Jones trail course in Opelika.

Bailey, a freshman for the best golf team from the Cullman County school system, compiled a 2 day score of 3 over par 147. His younger brother Rawlin, an 8th grader, finished with a 157, lowering his final round to a 77 after shooting an 80 on the 1st day. Both qualified for the AHSAA after performing well in the sub state playoff the week before.

Bailey had previously won the Cullman County tournament in early April at Cross Creek Course, and his brother had a good outing and joined him on the all tournament team. It's clear that talent runs in the family.

Both brothers remain steady on the course even in their prep offseason. The two are sanctioned members of the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) and play at various sites across the state in the summer time. Their dedication and passion for the sport is truly admirable.

WKUL FM and Gameday Weekly would like to extend our congratulations to the Sutter brothers for the quality they show on the course and also in everyday society. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for these two rising stars in the golf world. #spotlight
