HOLLY POND: A pair of positive situations took place for Holly Pond volleyball Monday from Dwayne Adams Court/Felton Easterwood Gymnasium.
The Lady Broncos claimed a sweep of Locust Fork in 3A, Area 11. Holly Pond prevailed 25 to 11, 25 to 14 and 25 to 15 in 57 minutes.
This puts the Lady Broncos 5 & 1 in the area, a half game behind area leader Vinemont (5 & 0).
Three seniors were honored by coach Adrien Adams and her squad.
Morgan Bartlett, Blakely Baggett and Ava Thomas factored in to the sweep Monday with the team now 8 & 1 in assignments played on campus.
Holly Pond has gone 8 & 1 since the Monica Ayers Classic they hosted September 06. The winning streak is currently at 5 in a row.
The play from Adams' three seniors blended with her talented youth as she plays a freshman and four sophomores regularly.
Baggett was ready to make things her happen on the evening she shared senior recognition with Bartlett and Thomas.
In the 2nd set, Baggett scored from the service area, had a volley and a pair of kills that sent the lead to a comfortable 16 to 5 advantage.
The set was done on solid serving by Isabella Foust with the match at 2 & 0 and confidence kept well in the right perspective.

Locust Fork erased an 8 to 3 margin in Game 3 and was down 8 to 7.
Baggett broke the surge by the Lady Hornets. A kill and a volley moved it to 10 to 7.
Four consecutive points with three by Baggett had the lead up to 17 to 9.
The three seniors were able to finish on the floor together in their final rotation and showed good play and leadership to finish sweeping Locust Fork for the 2nd time in 7 days.
Baggett tallied a kill that the Lady Hornets mishandled in returning and the match was over at 4:57 p.m.

In their last three area encounters, the Lady Broncos have claimed victory in sweeping Locust Fork twice and Hanceville once.
For the Lady Broncos Tuesday, a trip to Blountsville for area play with JB Pennington at 5:30 p.m.
A little further South in Blount County will be Vinemont playing at Locust Fork, a 5:30 p.m. start.
