Can Florida, Oklahoma, Miss State be better in 2025 SEC football:
Gators, Sooners and Bulldogs want to show the SEC they come to play:

GDW Analysis:
ATLANTA: In their time to visit SEC football media days Wednesday, the Florida Gators, Oklahoma Sooners and Mississippi State Bulldogs set their sights on more wins this season than what they each achieved last year.
Florida had the best record of the three with 8, posting late season triumphs over LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State and Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl.
Oklahoma did not comply to standards the Sooners normally see. In their first season in the SEC, Oklahoma went 6 & 7 and managed just two victories in the conference, one coming in late November against Alabama.
Mississippi State was at rock bottom. The Bulldogs managed two triumphs against 10 losses and were winless in eight tries vs. SEC teams.
Florida Gators:
8 & 5, 4 & 4 in the SEC 2024
Coach Billy Napier:
"The first thing I would say about expectations is when we talk about expectation, I think the important part is what we expect from each other. I think we've learned that, right? I think it's not only -- not only do you need to block out noise, but it's absolutely necessary that you do it. So I think we've gotta have high expectations for each other. We see each other every day. I think this is player to player; it's coach to player, coach to coach, all parts of our organization.
So that's where we spend our focus. I really believe that's when the magic happens, right, is when, you know, you look around that locker room and you trust the people. I think there's connection. There's a chemistry that's needed in this game. I think if you look at who's had success over the last couple years, it's veteran teams that have really good connection. So when I think about expectations, I think about what we expect from each other."

Coach Brent Venables:
"First of all, I think everybody is dealing with the same challenges. The 'poor me' is not part of the conversation.
I say it's complicated, more so than it's ever been for young people, the process of choosing a school. But I think it's great, too. I think it's about time. We've got to do a good job from a leadership position of helping, whether that's program by program or us in a leadership position holistically in college football helping these young people be good stewards of this space, continue keeping the main thing to the main thing.
Again, holistically develop these young people, help them maximize a small window that's there in college to develop, to play the game as long as they can play it but be prepared for life beyond the football field. That day is coming when they have to hang the cleats up."

Coach Jeff Lebby:
"For us again, we're going to get things done and change the outcome this fall because of how we practice and how we prepare. That's the reality of it.
" I've talked a ton all day about, man, we also have to become a team. I feel like our football team today is a lot closer and a lot more connected than it was a year ago, even with all the turnover. I'm excited about that."
