Cold Springs Lady Eagles open XC season with a victory:
Strong outing to open the 2025 XC for the CS Lady Eagles:

KILLEN: Cold Springs Lady Eagles prevailed in the 2025 AHSAA cross country opener.
The Lady Eagles dominated the opposition in the Tennessee River Classic hosted by Brooks High School.
The defending 2A state champion collected 19 points with their top 4 runners among the Top 6 in the 1A/4A division.
Deshler was a distant 2nd at 72 followed by Corinth Mississippi at 118 and Mars Hill Bible 4th with 123 points.
Eighth grader Resse Swidecki blazed a wonderful trail for Casey Howell's Lady Eagles. Swidecki ran the course in a time of 20:21.38.
From 4th to 6th place, Paizley Whitlow, the all star runner, 21:17.61, Kynzley Myrex 21:33, 17 and Macie Huffstutler 21:33.62.
Claire Huffstutler took home 14th position with a time of 22:59.71.
Eagles claim 3rd place in their opener:
Cold Springs was 3rd in the 1A/4A class with 142 points.
Corinth of Mississippi got by Hamilton High by a score of 43 to 44 points.
Hatton had the 4th best total at 169 then Marion County and Brooks.
Junior Logan Perdue was tops for the Eagles on opening day at 17:49.15 for 11th place.
The winning time was from the legs of Joshua Webb of Hamilton, 16:39.78.
Garrett Scheer of Cold Springs ran 20th with a time of 18:50.47.
The Lady Eagles and Eagles will be participating in the 15th Pepsi Challenge on August 30 from Alexander Park in Moulton.
Also to be running in representing are Cullman, Cullman Christian School, Good Hope, Holly Pond and West Point.
