GDW Analysis:
Cullman City Schools conducted a board meeting Friday morning with one big change in the athletic program.
A copy of the agenda was provided via email to Gameday Weekly.
The school board has conducted a contract with Jessica McBrayer to be interim coach of the Cullman softball team for 2025.
McBrayer is currently the head basketball coach of the Lady Bearcats, waiting to begin her 2nd season with the 6A school.
McBrayer visited with GDW Thursday evening while attending the "Meet the Bearcats" at Mark Britton Field/Oliver Woodard Stadium.
Nothing was said by McBrayer to GDW about this, GDW and McBrayer had conversation about the upcoming basketball season with Cullman looking to improve from 15 wins they accounted in McBrayer's inaugural season.
McBrayer replaces Lewayne Morton who guided Cullman to 23 wins the past season and a berth into the AHSAA North Regional in Florence.
Cullman's first year on the diamond with McBrayer will have them in Area 13 of 6A as set by the AHSAA. They will face Jasper and Mortimer Jordan as area opponents.
