Good Hope won at Dora 35 to 15. QB Parker Johnson scored 3 rushing TDs in the 3rd to break open a close game in 4A, Region 5.
Fairview was a 40 to 10 winner in 5A, Regionb 7 at East Limestone. QB Kolt Redding threw for 4 TDs, 2 to Connor Scott. Aggies scored 3 TDs in the 2nd to build a 33 to 3 lead at the half.
The facts:
Since 2020, Fairview's record is 57 & 11 with Good Hope winning 45 games and losing 22.
In the last 2 regular seasons, Fairview is 18 & 0 and Good Hope 17 & 2.
Both are regulars in going to the AHSAA playoffs. Good Hope in 7 of the last 8 years and Fairview 7 in a row.
The two have solid play from QB with Parker Johnson for Good Hope and Kolt Redding for Fairview.
In the backfield, Mason Drake is a key for the Raiders with the Aggies having the school's all time leading rusher, Jake Harper to set the tone.
Carter Rutherford is a standout in catching the ball from Johnson while Jace Stephens has been the go to receiver for Fairview.
This series is now back on the schedule for it will be the 4th straight year the Raiders and Aggies lay it on the line vs. each other.
From 2008, the series has encountered just five battles. The two met regularly in the 1990s then the series didn't get renewed when 2000 arrived and the series was idle for 8 years.
Weather conditions will be very much different than what the two have seen in the 2025 season.
The forecast for Halloween Eve (October 30) calls for a possible shower, cool temps with kickoff to be in the mid 50s at best.
This will be used as a tuneup before the state playoffs with both to be at home in the first round on November 7.
Good Hope will play Cherokee County at James Shabel Stadium, Fairview gets a visit by Arab the same evening at Dafford Smith Stadium.
