Fairview Aggies once again No.5 in 5A state football poll:

Aggies stay 5th after victory over West Point last Friday:

GDW Analysis:
BIRMINGHAM: For the 2nd consecutive week, the Fairview Aggies are stationed at No. 5 in the Class 5A state football poll.
The Aggies are coming off a 48 to 13 victory over the West Point Warriors in their opener in 5A, Region 7.
Fairview scored 4 TDs in the first quarter to build a 28 to 7 advantage and was in control the rest of the way to go 2 & 0 on the 2024 schedule.
Guntersville remains 1st in the 5A ranking with Catholic Montgomery, Central Clay County and Leeds following the Wildcats and ahead of Fairview.
Behind the Aggies is Scottsboro at No. 6.

No other team locally is currently in the Top 10 of their respective class.

Good Hope is 2 & 0, but has not scored enough points from the voters to be looked at as a Top 10 in Class 4A.
Jasper is undefeated at 3 & 0 and the top scoring team in Class 6A. The Vikings are not ranked as they are scheduled to host the Cullman Bearcats Thursday in a Region 7 contest.
Ardmore and Haleyville have 3 & 0 records with neither a Top 10 entry for 5A and 4A.
Ardmore is to host Fairview while Haleyville gets a visit from Good Hope for the 4th week of the 2024 regular season schedule.
