GDW Analysis:
VINEMONT: Cullman County Schools has posted through its social media page, the game times for the county volleyball championships on Thursday have changed.
The junior varsity title bout between # 1 Good Hope and # 2 West Point will be at 5:30 p.m.
Top seed West Point and 2nd seed Good Hope will face for the varsity crown at 7:00 pm.
The championships are being played at Vinemont Gymnasium.
A large crowd will be expected to see these programs fight it out for supremacy in the JV and varsity divisions.
JV:
Good Hope was 6 & 0 vs. the county in the regular season to gain the top seed.
West Point finished at 5 & 1, losing to Good Hope in a quad match played at Jim Boyd Gymnasium September 23.
Good Hope swept Vinemont in the semifinal round Tuesday by scores of 25 to 18 and 25 to 20.
West Point prevailed that evening over Fairview in straight sets, 25 to 23 and 25 to 20.
Varsity:
By going 3 & 0 in a quad match last Tuesday from Fairview, West Point went into the county tournament undefeated at 6 & 0.
West Point knocked off Good Hope in the first match of the quad match that day.
Good Hope officially posted 5 wins out of 6 decisions vs. the county to claim 2nd in the pairings.
From the semifinals Tuesday, West Point was a winner in 3 games against Fairview, 25 to 15, 25 to 16 and 25 to 11.
Good Hope eliminated Vinemont in the other semi by scores of 25 to 20, 25 to 15 and 25 to 23.
Good Hope has won the last four county championships under coach Natasha Holder.
West Point, with Meagan Cagle in her 2nd year, is unofficially at 20 & 11 while Good Hope unofficially is 21 & 14.
Gameday Weekly will provide championship game reports along with a selection of the all performance team in both divisions and a most outstanding player.
