GDW presents the Northwest Regional schedule for Tuesday:

Class 1A & 2A open the 2026 event from Wallace State CC:

GDW Analysis:
  HANCEVILLE: Tom Drake Coliseum at Wallace State Community College welcomes the 2026 edition of the AHSAA Northwest Regional basketball tournament to campus on Tuesday.
The small schools open the festivity.
The regional format has been associated with the AHSAA basketball playoffs since 1994.
Girls schedule for February 17:
  1A: Meek vs. Brilliant 9:00
1A: Athens Bible vs. Marion Co 12:00
2A: Belgreen vs. Sulligent 3:00
2A: Cold Springs vs. Decatur Heritage 6:00
Varsity games on Tuesday:
  1A: Meek vs. Hubbertville 10:30
1A: Addison vs. Marion Co 1:30

 2A: Red Bay vs. Tanner 4:30
2A: Cold Springs vs. Decatur Heritage 7:30

 Flash Facts:
  Cold Springs has the Lady Eagles and Eagles to be the first group from the Cullman County school system to play at the Hanceville based facility.

 Cold Springs' Lady Eagles have gone 19 & 10 in their first season with Paige Adams.
The Eagles have blazed a tremendous trail of 28 wins against 4 losses in the first season with Drew Adams.

 Both enjoyed winning on campus in the sub regional over the weekend. The Lady Eagles romped by Red Bay 68 to 17, the Eagles rallied in the 4th on Valentine's night to edge Lamar County 58 to 48.
Out of neighboring Winston County, Meek brings the Lady Tigers and Tigers in the first two games of the Tuesday schedule.
Both have been solid on the hardwood this season for winning the 1A Area 14 championship and prevailing over Waterloo in the sub regional.

 Meek's friendly rival, the Addison Bulldogs, come to Wallace as winners of 19 out of 28 decisions.

 Defending regional champions back for the 2026 event are Brilliant Lady Tigers in 1A, Hubbertville Lions in 1A, Decatur Heritage Lady Eagles in 2A, Decatur Heritage Eagles in 2A.
The Cold Springs' games will be carried live on WKUL FM (92.1).
Admission is $12.00 daily with a $5.00 parking fee set up on entrance near the Coliseum.
