GDW update on new prep basketball coaches:

Priceville & Florence girls have filled coaching vacancies:

GDW Analysis:
Two schools around the Gameday Weekly coverage area have filled vacancies in their basketball programs.
The position at Priceville High School has now been filled.
Dale Taylor has been hired to coach the Bulldogs after JR Dillbeck resigned from the Morgan County school in June.
Taylor has been at Tanner High School for four years, turning a program from 1 & 15 in his first year (2020/21) to 14 & 10, 23 & 10 and 18 & 8. The Rattlers reached the Elite 8 under Taylor in 2023 and 2024.

A huge win for Tanner in the playoffs in 2023 came in the Sub Regional round in Class 2A in a double OT victory at Felton Easterwood Gym vs. the Holly Pond Broncos.
Priceville is now set to play in Class 5A of the AHSAA for the first time. The Bulldogs' area opponents will be Brewer, Ardmore and East Limestone.
In Florence, the 7A school has brought in Blair Bowen Woods. Woods was well known in her playing career as a standout for Jana Killen at Deshler High School.
Woods coached Muscle Shoals for 9 seasons with 7 being a winning season.
She finished the 2023/24 campaign with the Lady Trojans earning 18 victories against 7 losses and the 6A, Area 15 championship.
Florence has been an opponent to the Cullman Lady Bearcats in recent years.
GDW is unaware if the series will continue in 2024/25.
