Good Hope and Fultondale have been regional opponents for the last two years.
These two have seen things differently since 2020. Fultondale has 7 wins and 35 losses in this span with a 4 & 7 record its best last year. The Wildcats were 4 & 2 in the region that gave them 3rd place behind Cherokee Co and Oneonta.
Good Hope is 28 & 19 in this span. The Raiders were 10 & 2 in 2020 and 9 & 4 in 2021. In 2022, the Raiders slipped to 5 & 6 and last year its first losing campaign since 2017 at 3 & 7.
So far in the early stages of the 2024 season, the Raiders are the best defensive team locally.

Good Hope held West Point out of the end zone last Friday on WKUL FM, forcing the Warriors to settle for a FG from the 30 and a 3 to 0 lead by halftime.
The Raiders then had two solid TD drives of 65 and 63 yards, led by the effort of QB Parker Johnson, Johnson threw a 38 yard scoring pass to Tucker Keef on the first series of the 3rd and a short run into the end zone by Tyler Cone gave the Raiders a 14 to 3 lead.

A FG on the last play of the 3rd made it 17 to 3 in which the Raiders rebounded in performance following a trip the week before to Dekalb County for a jamboree with the No. 1 Fyffe Red Devils from 3A.
Coach Scott sees the need of a 1 & 0 start in Region 5 for the Raiders have upcoming assignments on the road. Good Hope plays at Haleyville September 13 and is at Cordova on the 20th.
Class 4A, Region 5 has the Raiders with Fultondale, Haleyville, Cordova, Curry, Hamilton, Fayette Co and Dora.
The three schools from Walker County, Cordova, Curry and Dora, go into the 1st Friday of September 0 & 2. Curry last week lost to the Cold Springs Eagles at home 24 to 14.
