GDW Analysis:
VINEMONT: JB Pennington utilized 6'5" senior center Jesse Amos in taking a 69 to 49 victory over the Vinemont Eagles in the AHSAA 3A, Area 14 opener for both teams Friday evening.
Amos would produce 15 field goals, collecting 30 points in the contest. He was on a tear with 10 shots made from close range between the 2nd and 3rd period.
The 2nd was equal for both teams in scoring. Vinemont was down 14 to 6 following the 1st, got behind 24 to 10 early in the 2nd, then regrouped to keep the game in reach, down 34 to 26 at the half.
Gavin Parr collected a pair of treys in the 2nd and other threes were scored by EJ Sharpe and Cheston Wilhite.
But in the 3rd, the Tigers worked the ball often inside to Amos as he accounted for 5 FGs and the Tigers ran away from the Eagles with a 21 to 4 advantage in the 3rd.

Pennington was ahead 55 to 30 when the final period began.
Bryson Bush showed a good 4th period for Preston Boyd's Eagles. Bush tallied 12 in the period and would end the game with 17 points.
Parr had 12, Tucker Mauler 6, Wilhite 4, Sharpe 3 and Colton Gillis 2.
Pennington improved to 6 & 2 for the season with Vinemont falling to 3 & 7. The Eagles have lost their last four games.
