Local football been very good for 1st half of 2025 regular season:

Five teams with a winning streak, Cullman claims 1st victory:

GDW Analysis:
Through six weeks of the 2025 local football regular season, it has been very good as winning has been wonderful on a regular basis.
In September, the locals posted an 18 & 8 record against non county opponents.
The final Friday in the month was perfect with 5 wins out of 5 chances.
Can it continue with the games more intense the next four weeks being regional play by the AHSAA.
Fairview and Good Hope stand atop with 5 & 0 records. Cold Springs is doing well at 5 & 1, Vinemont enters the new month at 4 & 2.
West Point and Holly Pond have gone 3 & 2, Cullman finally has enjoyed victory for new coach Trent Walker.
This season has been very difficult for Hanceville with 0 wins in 5 tries.
A very good September for the following:
  Vinemont 4 & 0, Good Hope 4 & 0, Fairview 3 & 0, Cold Springs 3 & 1, West Point 2 & 1, Holly Pond 2 & 1
That's a combined record of 18 wins against 3 losses.
Current winning streaks:
Good Hope at 5, Fairview at 5, Vinemont at 4, Cold Springs at 3, West Point at 2, Cullman at 1.
Cullman County teams have been successful vs. schools from Winston County.
Good Hope has defeated Haleyville and Addison, West Point has a victory over Haleyville, Cold Springs has won back to back road games at Winston County and Lynn.
Playing well off campus has resulted in Good Hope at 2 & 0, Fairview 2 & 0, Cold Springs 2 & 1, West Point 2 & 1 and Holly Pond 2 & 1.

 What's happening?:
Victory by teams that have been covered by Gameday Weekly and on WKUL FM is the simple case of being much better than the opponent.
Six games that has been presented to those who follow us on 92.1 FM regularly and reading about it via gamedayweekly.com

All of those that have done well from late August through September are well aware of no room for error.
Teams like Fairview, West Point have some tough games coming up in 5A, Region 7.
That is the same for Good Hope in 4A, Region 6.
Vinemont is atop the leaderboard in 3A, Region 5 as the toughest part of the regional schedule is approaching the Eagles who have won 4 in a row after an 0 & 2 start.
Cold Springs has matched the win total of 5 from last season as the Eagles have been on a steady surge toward the top locally and in 2A, Region 6.
Yours truly looks at this in an optimistic attitude.
If we can get some teams to finish 1st or 2nd in their region, they will be on the home field for the first round of the AHSAA playoffs.

Otherwise, a finish in 3rd or 4th in their region means a game in the opening round on the road.
GDW has looked at how the AHSAA has set up the North part of regional postseason via regions.
Teams in Region 5 will meet Region 6. Those from Region 7 have a battle vs. ball clubs out of Region 8.
