Local football closes out a very good 2025 regular season:

Progress very much on the move for local football programs:

GDW Analysis:
When Holly Pond left Thomas/Michelfelder Field Friday evening after a 58 to 40 victory over Cleveland, the 2025 local football regular season concluded with very good results.
Holly Pond and West Point made progress in claiming victory with both getting 5 triumphs out of 10 decisions.
The two with a .500 winning percentage joins four other schools that endured winning a little bit more.
Fairview went out and worked through its 10 game schedule without a loss. Good Hope came through with 8 victories while Cold Springs and Vinemont took down 6 opponents from late August to the end of October.
Even a good 2nd half for Cullman is well noted after the Bearcats were 0 & 5 through September 19.
In looking at school systems that are nearby Cullman County, the county can claim football is on an upswing for six of the seven teams from the county system displayed consistency in the quest of being the winner on the scoreboard.
Dekalb County equals Cullman County of having 4 schools to display the winning formula.
Blount County got three to succeed in the regular season, three from Morgan County schools, two out of Marshall County and just one in Limestone County.
Walker County schools report no program was at least 5 & 5 and none of the six in their school system qualified for the AHSAA playoffs.
Cullman County has 4 to work through regional play and get into the postseason format.
Fairview, West Morgan, Plainview, Appalachian claim a 10 & 0 regular season.
Teams that didn't earn a victory in 2025 include Hanceville, Hayden, Asbury, Sumiton Christian.
From the 2024 schedule to 2025 play, improvement has been made by Holly Pond from 4 & 6 to 5 & 5, West Point from 2 & 8 to 5 & 5, Cold Springs from 5 & 5 to 6 & 4, Fairview from 9 & 0 to 10 & 0.

Good seasons did come from Good Hope at 8 & 2 and Vinemont 6 & 4, but one victory less than what both achieved in the previous regular season.
Fairview has the most victories vs. playoff bound schools with 5. Good Hope accomplished this task 4 times. Vinemont got a pair of huge regional wins vs. Gordo and Phil Campbell.
Cullman wrapped up a positive 2nd half in beating playoff bound Buckhorn 22 to 19 on the night of October 24.

The playoffs will be a different setting for not being a winner in your assignment, the season is officially done for.
Good Hope and Fairview will have playoff games November 7 at home against Cherokee County and Arab.
Vinemont will be going to Westbrook Christian in the Gadsden area with West Point on its way next Friday to face Scottsboro at legendary Pat Trammell Stadium.

Gameday Weekly is blessed to see this county show guts and pride when going up against programs from neighboring counties.
Hopefully the season for us in what we do will carry well into the month of November.
