New era starts for Vinemont Lady Eagles with Emmy Willoughby:

GDW Analysis:
VINEMONT: Vinemont High School reported Monday morning a change in the girls basketball program.
Emily Willoughby is now in command of the Lady Eagles according to a social media report by the 3A school in North Cullman County.
Willoughby replaces James Brown.
Willoughby in recent years has coached the JV girls squad.
Willoughby is well known for her greatness as a player for Tammy West at Cold Springs High School.
She was a member of the Cullman County championship team her junior year in 2016.
In her senior season of 2016/17, Cold Springs was 28 & 5 with an area championship in Class 2A and a berth to the Elite Eight of the AHSAA playoffs.
Willoughby was the winner of the Bill Shelton Award from the 2017 Cullman County tournament. All county, all area and all state.
Vinemont Lady Eagles have made stride in the last two years with 17 wins per season.
Vinemont gained a rare victory in the county tournament 1st round vs. Holly Pond to set themselves up for a semifinal match with eventual winner Good Hope.
Vinemont was 2 & 0 for the first time in its tip off classic to start the season, defeating Elkmont 48 to 31 and outscoring Ardmore 72 to 54.
The Lady Eagles earned 9 wins in 11 games this past season at Vinemont Gymnasium. They were 4 & 2 in 3A, Area 13, finishing 2nd in the regular season to Susan Moore.
Willoughby will have an experienced group coming into her first season as a high school hoops leader.
They will look for leadership from Reagan Robinson and Caroline Miller in the backcourt, Carly Stephens at forward as they were starters for the Lady Eagles last season.

Depth had been developing for Vinemont with good off the bench play last season by Morgan Flanagan, Addison Holcomb, Vayda Yarbrough.
Vinemont will see opposition for its area as they are in area play with county foes Hanceville and Holly Pond, plus JB Pennington and Locust Fork coming in from 2A to 3A for the next two years.
The Lady Eagles will be having tryouts soon the story reported and will look forward to summer playdays in the month of June.
