Small schools state track and field is back at Cullman HS:

Three local schools have qualified for the 2024 championships:

Once again, the small schools in the Alabama High School Athletic Association track and field meet will work their way to Mark Britton Field/Oliver Woodard Stadium for the state championships.
The track season will end this weekend with teams in 1A through 3A high of excitement in the quest to take home the blue trophy in their respective classification.
Three locals fared well last weekend in the sectional meets.
Holly Pond Broncos and Lady Broncos won the 2A, Section 3 championship in Fort Payne.
The Cold Springs Eagles claimed the 2A, Section 4 title with the Lady Eagles coming in 2nd as the meet was held at Winfield.
Vinemont Eagles and Lady Eagles punched their ticket to the 3A state meet following 4th place finishes in the Section 4 event from Winfield.
This is the schedule for field and running events both days:
Field events Friday:
8:00 - Long jump (3A G), shout put (2A), Discus (3A),
Javelin (2A G), High Jump (1A G), Pole Vault (1A)

 9:30 - Triple Jump (2A G)
11:00 - Shot put (3A G), Discus (1A G), Javelin (3A),

Long jump (2A), Triple jump (1A), High jump (3A G),
Pole vault (1A G)
12:30 - Discus (para)
1:30 - Long jump (1A G)
2:00 - Shot put (2A G), Discus (1A), Javelin (3A G),
High jump (1A), Pole vault (3A).
3:00 - Triple jump (3A)
Running events Friday:
10:00 - 4 X 100 relay (1A, 1A G)
10:20 - 4 X 100 relay (2A, 2A G)
10:40 - 4 X 100 relay (3A, 3A G)
11:10 - 1,600 meter run (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
12:30 - 400 meter run (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
1:45 - 110 hurdles (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
2:30 - 100 meter dash (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
3:15 - 4 X 800 relay (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
4:45 - 200 meter dash (1A G, 1A, 2A G, 2A, 3A G, 3A)
Saturday field events:
8:00 - Shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, high jump, pole vault
9:30 - Triple jump
11:00 - Shot put, discus, javelin, long jump. high jump, pole vault
12:00 - Para 110 meters
12:30 - Javelin

 Running events Saturday:
11:00 - 110 meter hurdles
11:30 - 100 meter dash
12:30 - 300 meter hurdles
1:30 - 200 meter dash
2:00 -  800 meter dash
3:00 - 4 X 800 meter relay
4:30  - Championship award ceremonies.
Note: Class 1A will compete in each event 1st, followed by Class 2A and Class 3A.
