Stormy weather stops the AHSAA state track meet in Cullman:
Good effort to get in a majority of Friday's meet before storm arrives:

GDW Analysis:
A good effort was shown by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) in the small schools state track meet Friday from Britton Field/Woodard Stadium at Cullman High School.
The AHSAA went into a format of a rolling schedule in the running events once they began at 10:00 a.m. due to possible severe weather to invade the area later in the day.
It worked with the running schedule getting at least one hour ahead of the original setup.
Then lightning was reported near the stadium to prompt the first of two delays.
After the first delay, runners were allowed to get back on the track prior to 3:00 p.m.
Three runs in the 4 X 800 relay were held before a second line of stormy weather with this one ending the day for the competitors.
Before 7:00 p.m. Friday, the AHSAA announced the day was done with a meeting to be around 8:00 a.m. Saturday in the quest to continue with Day 2.
Running events are scheduled to start Saturday at 8:30 a.m.
Nine are on tap in the latest information provided to Gameday Weekly by the AHSAA.
