GDW Analysis:
GOOD HOPE: Female athletes from Good Hope High School are in a very good trend of signing collegiate letters of intent.
From the school's library Tuesday morning, Campbell Koch and Lizzy Steed continue this run that is now at 9 Lady Raider athletes to reach an incredible accomplishment in the last 3 years.
Koch will move on and play volleyball at Wallace State Community College.
Steed will take her softball skills on to Calhoun Community College.
Both programs are well known for their success in the highly regarded Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC).
Koch:
A valuable player on the volleyball floor for Good Hope from the role of setter, Koch made great strides from the start of her time in the sport as a 7th grader to displaying leadership skills in her senior season that finished in October with Good Hope earning a berth to the AHSAA 4A Regionals at the Finley Center in Hoover.
Koch was all county, all area a member of the Gameday Weekly all performance team.
She accomplished the task of handing out 2,000 assists as a Lady Raider.
Her coach Natasha Holder described Koch as a hard worker, willing to understand the aspects of the game for taking advice and making it work for her as well for her teammates.
Steed:
The senior centerfielder for Lady Raider softball, Steed excelled on the diamond in 2025 that propelled her group to win the Cullman County title, the AHSAA 4A, Area 11 championship and advance to the regional round of the postseason.
Steed is well known to Gameday Weekly as being the Lady Raiders' leadoff batter. Her level of getting on base sure set the tone when the squad needed it from her in crucial moments last season.
Steed was selected the GDW Most Outstanding Player in the Cullman County tournament from the Vinemont Sports Complex.
She batted .750 for the three games with Good Hope playing well to be the best in this sport from the local perspective.
Steed was all county, all area, on the GDW all performance team.
She sharpened her skills after the high school season in playing extremely competitive softball with a group named EC Bullets out of North Alabama.
Her coach Tim Tucker reflected on what she means in her role as Good Hope has recorded 44 victories in the past two seasons and approach the 2026 schedule with high optimism.
With Koch and Steed now signing a collegiate letter of intent, they share this moment that has been well earned by Good Hope Lady Raider athletics since 2023 by Ivey Maddox, Heather Tetro, Bailey Tetro, Bailey Keef, Charley Johnson, Ava McSwain and Haley Lay.
Maddox accepted an offer to continue her career in basketball as did the Tetro twins and McSwain.
Keef and Johnson are currently in collegiate volleyball and Lay will look forward to the upcoming season in collegiate softball.
This trend is expected to continue for the Lady Raider program in the near future, based on the success of the athletes at the 4A school in Southwest Cullman County in volleyball, basketball and softball.
