Vinemont & Good Hope girls earn area championship trophies:

Vinemont nips Holly Pond, Good Hope rolls past West Morgan:

GDW Analysis:
Vinemont Lady Eagles claim the AHSAA 3A Area 11 championship Monday evening by outlasting the Holly Pond Lady Broncos 44 to 40 from the Pinnacle.
Good Hope Lady Raiders repeat as the best in 4A Area 13 after romping over West Morgan 75 to 43 Monday at Good Hope Gymnasium.
Both will get to host a sub regional playoff on Friday with tip time to be at 6:00 p.m.
Vinemont will play the runner up from 3A Area 10, Carbon Hill or Winfield. They play for the area title Tuesday.
Good Hope has the runner up from Area 9, Fultondale or Dora, for their next assignment from Good Hope Gymnasium.
Vinemont is 21 & 10 on the season in Emily Willoughby's 2nd year leading the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Eagles have been a winner at the Pinnacle in 11 of 14 decisions.
With Willoughby, Vinemont has gone 43 & 18 the last 2 years and has posted back to back 20 win seasons for the first time in over 20 years.
Good Hope showed its superior play in the 4A Area 13 tournament. The Lady Raiders ran Danville off the floor 66 to 35 last Friday and sent West Morgan back to Trinity with a 32 point setback.
The Lady Raiders are now 25 & 6 on the season. They are 8 & 2 in games played on the Good Hope campus.
Other games Monday:

 Mortimer Jordan 52, Cullman 50 in 6A A 13 (G).
Mortimer Jordan upset the regular season area champion at Bearcat Arena.
Cullman drops to 21 & 8 and will play at Area 16 champion, Hazel Green or Buckhorn Friday in the sub regional.
Meek 65, Cullman Christian 40 in 1A A 14 (G):

 Cullman Christian's first time to play in an area championship didn't fare well to a Meek Lady Tiger squad playing this game on their home floor.
CCS is 11 & 14 and will play at the Area 15 champion, Athens Bible or Waterloo on Friday in the sub regional.
