GDW Analysis:
LOCUST FORK: A chance for the Vinemont Lady Eagles to nail down the regular season title in AHSAA 3A, Area 12 softball did not go their way Tuesday.
Locust Fork pulled off a 2 to 1 thriller, handing Vinemont its first loss in area play.
Gameday Weekly has researched and has the following in the standings in 3A, Area 12:
Vinemont:
Lady Eagles 5 & 1 in the area.
Vinemont to play at JB Pennington Thursday
Vinemont to host Hanceville Friday.
Locust Fork:
Lady Hornets 6 & 1 in the area.
Locust Fork has to play Holly Pond to finish the area schedule.
Game was postponed April 10. No new date has been set.
Hanceville:
Lady Bulldogs 3 & 3 in the area after 16 to 4 victory Tuesday vs. JB Pennington.
Hanceville at Holly Pond Thursday.
Hanceville at Vinemont Friday
JB Pennington:
Lady Tigers 1 & 6 in the area.
Pennington vs. Vinemont Thursday.
Vinemont and Locust Fork split the season series with Vinemont winning 5 to 4 March 20 and Locust Fork getting the 2 to 1 triumph Tuesday.
Vinemont must win the remaining games and hope Locust Fork loses to Holly Pond.
If not, both would be tied and tiebreaking procedures would apply to see whom will be hosting the Area 12 tournament the weekend of April 25.
