Good Hope shows hope in winning 4th straight county title:

GDW prep volleyball team spotlight of the week:
Good Hope Lady Raiders: Another Cullman County championship trophy sits inside the trophy case after the Lady Raiders done it in superb fashion last week from Holly Pond.
The No. 4 seed Lady Raiders took down 5 seed Holly Pond, 1 seed Vinemont and 2 seed West Point, a week after they had lost three consecutive county matches for the first time in quite a while.
Knowing that plenty was to be accomplished, Natasha Holder's Lady Raiders showed it in sweeping Holly Pond and West Point 3 to 0 and sending top seed Vinemont out of the tournament in 4 games.
Good Hope has claimed four consecutive county championships. They won it in 2023 as a 3 seed and this time around, a middle seed.
Since 2000, the Lady Raiders have been the best in county volleyball 14 times.
Winning the county tournament marked the 50th anniversary. The first event was held in 1974 with Good Hope the champion.
Now with a county championship locked in, the Lady Raiders can take it to the final week of the regular season with momentum.
Good Hope plays Hayden on Tuesday and a tri match vs. Clay Chalkville and Wilson Thursday to end the regular season.
GDW volleyball player spotlight:
Jolee McHan of Good Hope: McHan has steadily worked her way back into a good playing role after having surgery earlier this year to repair ligament damage in her knee.
A senior she is, McHan has set the example of a leader with her determination and effort as Good Hope wins the Cullman County title, going into the event last week as a 4 seed.
McHan was selected co player of the tournament by Gameday Weekly with teammate Carley Adams.
She earned all county honors by the coaches and recognition by many for showing what she has in heart and soul after an injury took her off the playing floor for a period of time.
