VINEMONT: Games that are important in setting up the field for the Cullman County Tournament will be played Monday from the Pinnacle at Vinemont High School.
Good Hope vs. Vinemont

Girls:
Good Hope is 4 & 1 in the county standings, currently 2nd to West Point (6 & 0) with Vinemont 3rd at 3 & 2.
The winner will take the 2 seed into the county tournament that will be January 19/24 from Wallace State CC.
Good Hope is 16 & 3 overall and 2nd in the 4A poll. Vinemont has a 13 & 8 record, currently 6th in the 3A rankings.
If Vinemont loses, a 3 way tie for 3rd, 4th & 5th seed into the tournament will have to be settled. Fairview and Cold Springs are 3 & 3.
In head to head, Vinemont has the edge on Fairview, Cold Springs the edge on Vinemont and Fairview the edge on Cold Springs.
A coin toss is very much likely to finalize the issue if Good Hope defeats Vinemont.
Varsity:
At stake is the 3 seed if Vinemont can be a winner vs. Good Hope.
Heading into Monday, Fairview and Holly Pond are locked in a 3 & 3 record while Vinemont is a game back at 2 & 3, Good Hope 1 & 4.
Cold Springs has claimed the top seed for going 6 & 0 in the standings with West Point 2nd at 4 & 2.
If there is a 3 way tie, the head to head edge presents Holly Pond over Vinemont, Fairview over Holly Pond and Vinemont over Fairview.
If this procedure is applied, Holly Pond has a victory over a higher seed, an OT win against West Point from a game at Jim Boyd Gymnasium November 14.
Vinemont is on a 4 game winning streak with a 13 & 7 status for rookie coach James Brown.
Good Hope is only 5 & 10 in Mitch Morris' first year with the Raiders having to adjust their lineup due to SG Kye McSwain out with a wrist injury. The Raiders have lost their last 4 games, falling to Danville last Friday in 4A, Area 13 on the road 68 to 59.
Vinemont is also playing for top honors in 3A, Area 11. The Eagles rallied and knocked off Hanceville 61 to 57 on January 9 as they are 6 & 1 in area play.
The Eagles finish their area schedule Tuesday at Vinemont against Holly Pond. Holly Pond is 5 & 1 in the area, defeating Vinemont in a battle from Felton Easterwood Gymnasium/Dwayne Adams Court December 19.
Cullman County Schools athletic director Alan Dunkling reported during a tournament meeting on January 7, necessary coin flips will be held in his office at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday to complete the seeding for this year's county tournament.
