What will BB & SB be in the future locally after reclassification?:
The future for AHSAA baseball and softball is now set:

GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: Baseball and softball teams sanctioned by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) are almost a month into the 2026 season.
Now the schools can see where they will be after the AHSAA on Friday reclassified these two spring sports for 2026 through 2028.
Baseball:
Cold Springs in 2A Area 15 with Phil Campbell, Carbon Hill and Winston Co
Cullman in 5A Area 15 with Arab, Hartselle & Jasper.
Fairview in 4A Area 14 with Good Hope, West Point & Hayden.
Hanceville in 3A Area 13 with Holly Pond, Susan Moore & Vinemont.
Softball:
Cold Springs in 2A Area 15 with Phil Campbell, Carbon Hill & Winston Co
Cullman in 5A Area 15 with Arab, Hartselle, Jasper
Fairview in 4A Area 14 with Good Hope, Hayden, West Point
Hanceville in 3A Area 13 with Holly Pond, Susan Moore & Vinemont.
For the first time in some while, half of the county system will be together in two classifications.
Nothing has really changed as Hanceville, Holly Pond and Vinemont are currently playing in the same area in baseball and softball in 2026.
Fairview and West Point drop a class and will share the same area in both sports the next two years with Good Hope.
These are the three largest schools in the Cullman County system.
Cullman sees a change from leaving area baseball and softball with Jasper and Mortimer Jordan this year for hotly contested area play in the future against rivals Arab, Hartselle and Jasper.
The reclassification by the AHSAA is now with a new setup after the Central Board of Control in January decided to separate the public schools from the private schools in the association.
A total of 353 public schools is currently sanctioned by the AHSAA when the new athletic year for 2026 & 2027 begins in late August with the fall sports as football and volleyball will see a series of changes.
