A trio of prep football teams take part in a spring jamboree:

Fyffe shuts out Vinemont, Good Hope gets a shutout of Fyffe:

GDW Analysis:
VINEMONT: For the 2nd consecutive year, the Vinemont Eagles, Good Hope Raiders and Fyffe Red Devils tangle with one another in a spring jamboree.
The difference this year the jamboree was at Vinemont's Mark Smothers Stadium and was played on a Friday evening. The 2024 encounter was moved up to a Wednesday due to severe weather in the forecast for that weekend.

No weather problems for May 16 with Fyffe playing Vinemont for a half and shutting out the Eagles 7 to 0.
Then Good Hope squared off with Fyffe and the Raiders earned a 6 to 0 shutout.
Good Hope and Vinemont faced each other in the final two quarters.
Fyffe vs. Vinemont:
Fyffe had a good drive in the first quarter that started from the Red Devils 35. It reached the Vinemont 8 yard line where the Eagles took over and holding them on a 4th down play.
Vinemont was unable to move the ball, getting 4 yards on 3 snaps and punted back to Fyffe.
From the Vinemont 40, the Red Devils would take the ball into the end zone on a quarterback keeper from the one, the first play of the 2nd period.
The Eagles had two drives in the 2nd, losing one on downs at the Vinemont 42 and the other on a punt following a 10 yard loss on a fumbled snap during a 3rd down play.

Fyffe tallied 123 yards of offense in the two periods vs. the Eagles. The Eagles would accumulate 4 yards of offense on 10 plays in their span.
Good Hope vs. Fyffe:
Defense showed well for both teams, especially Good Hope.
Fyffe had the ball first and was moving from its 30 and approaching the Good Hope end zone when Tucker Keef came up with an interception to stop the series at the Raiders' 11 yard line.
Keef would be on the receiving end of a 32 yard pass by Parker Johnson on the last play of the first to get the Raiders a new set of downs from the 50.
The Raiders lost possession on downs at the Fyffe 40.
Fyffe gave the ball back to the Raiders as Good Hope took the ball 41 yards into the Red Devil end zone.
A pass interference call was good for 15 yards and a first down at the Fyffe 26.
Mason Drake was able to get free around left end and go 16 yards to the end zone for the TD with 8:00 to play in the 2nd.
The extra point was no good and the Raiders led 6 to 0.

Fyffe had the ball two more times in the period but never could get the ball deep into Raider territory.
The final series for the Red Devils stalled out at the Fyffe 20 when time expired.
Good Hope finished the segment with 69 yards rushing, 28 yards passing, 97 yards of offense and 7 first downs.
Drake rushed for 42 yards on eight attempts in leading Alan Scott's running game.
Johnson completed three passes for 30 yards.

The Raiders had only two penalties against Fyffe for 15 yards. Fyffe was flagged for a pair of 15 yard infractions in the 2nd quarter.
