Addison sweeps rival Meek to be the best in Class 1A in 2025:

BIRMINGHAM: Just West of the Cullman County line is neighboring Winston County.
Winston County carries a great trademark for its success of winning volleyball championships from the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA).
The latest for Addison High School was Wednesday in sweeping its nearby rival Meek 3 to 0 in the 1A state championship from Bill Harris Arena.
Addison prevailed 25 to 14, 25 to 15 and swept the series in a thrilling 28 to 26 battle in the 3rd set.
Sophomore Ava Bartlett was tops for Addison in attacks with 18 kills.
Allie Powell had 13.
Annabeth Powell showed productive play with 30 assists. Karson Wyatt responded with 13 digs, Annabeth Powell 11.
As a team, Addison had 39 kills in the match to 28 for Meek. The Lady Bulldogs produced 38 assists to go with 60 digs.
Sadie Hall's squad raised the level of play in the Elite Eight.

 Addison swept Milry in the quarterfinal round, Appalachian in the semifinals Tuesday then went to work and performed to a championship level against their arch rival Meek.
Addison earned the top seed for the Class from the North Regional the week before at the Finley Center in taking down Meek 3 games to 0.
Hall just finished her first season coaching at Addison as she replaced Kaydi Woodard who left after the 2024 season to become coach at Vinemont High School.
This is Addison's first AHSAA since 2022 when the Lady Bulldogs claimed the 1A crown under Woodard and had a 40 & 6 record.
Addison ends the championship run at 35 & 15 in taking down the state title for the 10th time since 2014.
