GDW 2025 All Performance basketball team:
Gameday Weekly presents a fine group of athletes in honoring the 2025 all performance basketball team.
Very good hoops was reported by GDW from opening night November 7 to the end of the schedule on February 8 in the sub regional round.
GDW ranks the top performers by position based on performances seen by GDW and WKUL FM (92.1).

West Point created a 3 way tie for the top spot in Cullman County play in defeating the Raiders the weekend before Christmas.
Non county game of the year:
West Point over Decatur Heritage 68 to 52 December 28.
In the championship of the West Point Christmas Classic, the Warriors got control with a 27 to 8 run in the 3rd to overcome a a 36 to 33 halftime deficit.
The Warriors won six consecutive games at Jim Boyd Gymnasium in December to take momentum into the 2nd half of the schedule:
Upset of the year:
Holly Pond 53 to 50 over West Point January 24 at the Cullman County semifinal from Wallace State.
The Broncos slowed the pace down with the Warriors unable to make proper adjustments as the game went down to the wire.
Holly Pond was the 4th seed coming into the tournament with West Point the No. 1 seed and winners of 5 out of 6 games vs. county teams.
Breakout performance:
Good Hope over Dora 81 to 57 at Wallace State January 2.
The Raiders were ready to play on the day after New Years with five earning double digit figures.
Good Hope scored 20, 22, 20 and 17 per period in improving to 15 & 3 at the time. Tyler Cone led the Raiders with 21 while reserve shooter Ky McSwain came off the bench and hit 13, 3 from long distance.
Comeback triumph:
Cullman over Jasper 66 to 61 at Bearcat Arena February 5 in 6A, Area 13 championship.
Bearcats fell behind 23 to 8 after the opening period. They never surrendered as a 23 to 13 run in the 2nd got them back in contention at the half, trailing 36 to 31.
The brother combo of Jake and Sam Dorough sparked on this evening. Jake had 19 points and was named the tournament MVP with Sam scoring 18 and getting an all tournament selection.
