 A great season of girls basketball was covered by Gameday Weekly in the 2024/25 schedule.
Now GDW honors outstanding performers as they are ranked among the Top 4 in their respective position.

County game of the year:
Vinemont 56 to 54 over West Point December 3.
Vinemont beats West Point for the 1st time in 20 years on the night the Lady Eagles honor Reagan Robinson for scoring her 1,000th point the week before.
Non county game of the year:
West Point 71 to 68 over Plainview November 11 in Veterans Day Classic at Wallace State.
Lady Warriors earned a huge victory on this holiday with a 31 to 19 run in the 4th period to overcome a deficit. Lady Warriors were 18 of 23 from the line in final period with Laklin Shadix 5 of 7 and Camryn Faulkner 5 of 6.
This win would be against a squad that would reach the Final Four in their first year playing in Class 4A of the AHSAA.
Upset of the year:
Holly Pond 54 to 42 over Vinemont in 3A, Area 11 championship at Vinemont February 3.
Holly Pond handed Vinemont its only loss at home in 13 games on the season. Lady Broncos had a 16 to 2 run in the 2nd to send them ahead at the half 24 to 12.
Ava Thomas scored 19 for Holly Pond and was named the tournament MVP.
Outstanding performance in the playoffs:
Good Hope over Deshler 70 to 50 in 4A Northwest Regional final February 18 at Wallace State.
The No. 4 Lady Raiders showed their scoring ability in getting 25 in the 2nd and leading the No. 3 Lady Tigers 40 to 28 at the half.
This was a team effort as Ava McSwain scored 15 for the regional champion and was selected MVP.
Sophie Konrad scored 16, Lucie Adams 12 in joining McSwain as all tournament selections.
Good Hope knocked off the school that has the winningest coach in AHSAA girls history in Jana Killen from Deshler.
In the last 5 years of postseason play, Good Hope has defeated Deshler 3 time.
