GDW Analysis:
ATLANTA: Brian Snitker has decided to step down as manager of the Atlanta Braves.
The announcement was made Wednesday in a news conference at Truist Park.
Snitker led the Braves for 10 seasons, compiling 811 wins, the 3rd most in the history of the franchise that has been in Atlanta since 1966.

Snit built a winner with the Braves winning the World Series in 2021. He led the club to 6 National League Eastern Division titles.
The 2025 season was difficult with the Braves out of the postseason for the first time in 8 seasons.
Injuries riddled the pitching staff from the beginning.
The Braves went 0 & 7 to open the schedule losing to the Padres and Dodgers out in the West Coast.
Despite the injuries and at times inconsistency, the Braves kept fighting throughout the season.
The Braves won the MLB Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway, beating the Cincinnati Reds.
After that they would go on and win 14 of their next 20 games.
They had a good surge at the end of the season with a 10 game winning streak before three losses cut that momentum to the lowly Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates.

A 4 to 1 victory Sunday against the Pirates closed out the season at 76 wins, 86 losses, 4th place in the NL East.
The late season run included victories over AL playoff bound teams, the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Guardians and a 3 game sweep of the Detroit Tigers
.

Snit will remain with the team as an advisory consultant.

He will be inducted into the Braves' Hall of Fame in 2026.
Braves management did not provide anything publicly during the news conference on whom could be Snit's successor.
No timetable has been set with the Braves now having a lot of work to do before they take to the field in 2026.
