Can the Braves keep the momentum going against the Mets?:

Braves are hot, the Mets are not:

GDW Analysis:
NEW YORK: With four wins in their last five games, the Atlanta Braves are a hot ball club currently.

Their opponent the next three games is not.
It's the New York Mets with the Braves going to Citi Stadium for a series very important to both clubs.
Game 1 is Tuesday 6:10 p.m. CST.
It will be carried live on WKUL FM (92.1).
Spencer Strider will be given the ball to start the series for the Braves.

Strider is not in stride at the present time.
Last week the best team in the NL, the Milwaukee Brewers, roughed him up with 5 runs on 11 hits and less than 5 innings of work.
In two games vs. the Mets, Strider has hurled 11 innings with 5 walks and 16 strikeouts.
He needs to regain his composure with the Braves coming in fresh off taking down the Miami Marlins 4 games out of 5 from the weekend at Truist Park.
It's not been a good start for the Mets in August.
Seven consecutive losses, one victory in their last 10 games. The Brewers got the broom handed to them over the weekend by Milwaukee.
The Mets are 63 & 55, 2nd in the NL East to the Phillies (69 & 49).
New York is 3rd in the Wild Card standings with the Cubs going into the new week on top in this category with 67 wins, the Padres are 2nd with 66.
The Mets are ahead in the WC standings of the Reds (62 wins) and Cardinals (60).
The Braves have 51 for the season with a 3 game winning streak.

Beating the Marlins who are ahead of them in the NL East standings is a boost with plenty to still play for with eight weeks left on the 2025 schedule.

They did it behind timely hitting vs. the Marlins by Drake Baldwin, Marcel Ozuna, Matt Olson, Jerikson Profar and Ozzie Albies. Good pitching came from rookie RH Hurston Baldwin and the bullpen work with Rasiel Iglesias now having 16 saves, two coming in the series with the Marlins.

After the Braves play three with the Mets, they will move on to a weekend series at Cleveland.
