Chaos Summer Basketball League from Bearcat Arena at Cullman High School concluded the 2025 schedule Monday evening.
The league in its 5th year since Stu Stuedeman came to Cullman to lead the Bearcat program, has now etched a piece of tradition into the sport for youngsters.
Chaos is the nickname of how Cullman hoops have become with the Bearcats winners of 104 games in four seasons led by Stuedeman and a first time AHSAA state championship in 2021.
The summer league is intense for it consisted of five days of games during July.
Bearcat Arena was active for each Monday evening with a tripleheader in the age division of 2nd graders through the 8th grade.
Gameday Weekly appeared on opening night of July 7 and was back Monday evening for a round of hoops in seeing a group of kids raise their level of play in the span of a month.
A matchup of 2nd through 5th grade, a close first half became a solid final half for the White in defeating the Black team 41 to 25.
The White jumped to the lead with the Black making a run and getting in striking distance at the half trailing 19 to 13.
In the 2nd half, the White was more superior on executing with a 22 to 12 advantage and put the game well out of reach.
From an encounter of 7th & 8th graders, the White showed a superb performance in romping over the Black 77 to 36.
Team White was very effective from the perimeter, hitting threes from the top, wings and baseline. The White stormed to a 42 to 12 lead by intermission.
They stayed consistent on the scoring tally by hitting for 35 in the final 18:00.
The Black showed a respectable final half with 24 points. But the sluggish opening half was way too much for the Black to overcome.
Those who participated in the month long league were honored by receiving a t-shirt from Cullman Basketball.
Hard work paid off with these kids looking forward to what's ahead with each when they go into recreational play as well as playing for Cullman Middle School.
