Cold Springs continues to control top honors in small schools XC:

OAKVILLE: Another AHSAA cross country state championship trophy will placed in the trophy case at Cold Springs High School.
The Lady Eagles excelled in the 1A/2A state meet Saturday from Oakville Indian Mounds Park with 45 points from the team perspective, well ahead of runner up Sand Rock with 89.
Eighth grader Reese Swidecki was at a championship performing level. Swidecki ran the course in 19:20.00. Senior Paizley Whitlow completed her XC career in 4th place at 19:58.59.
Kynzlie Myrex wound up 7th overall at 21:01.03.
Macie Huffstutler finished 17th for the Lady Eagles to have four in the Top 20. Huffstutler's time was 21:53.16.
Cold Springs gets edged in their state meet:
Cold Springs went to battle in the 1A/2A division with Athens Bible School Saturday morning.
Athens Bible squeezed it out by scoring 86 points to 87 for the Eagles.
Logan Perdue was 9th in the run with a time of 17:42.60. Teammate Garrett Scheer came in 10th at 17:4749.
Vinemont runner the best in Class 3A:
Senior Brady Johnson set the tone for Vinemont in earning the 3A state championship.
Johnson posted a state winning time of 15:51.42, finishing ahead of Landon Davenport of Wicksburg at 16:19.77.
