GDW Analysis:
Getting back into the victory status was important for West Point.
The Warriors have a good chance to conclude their Cullman County schedule prior to the pairings on January 7 and be seeded 2nd behind the Cold Springs Eagles.
Mason Voce's Warriors stand 3 & 2 after Monday night. They share the same mark with Fairview who will host the Warriors in a makeup game January 3.
Holly Pond is 3 & 3, Vinemont 2 & 3 as the Warriors/Aggies' encounter will do a lot for positioning the field for this year's event January 19/24 from Wallace State.
West Point has a tandem Gameday Weekly has tabbed as "Twin Towers."
Shelton is listed at 6'5" with Chapman around 6'3.
The opposition in recent time has been unsuccessful in slowing down the duo, much less containing them.
Through the first half, Shelton had hit 7 FGs and had 14 points with Chapman scoring 12, making a trey, 2 FGs and 5 from the line.
The Warriors went from a 19 to 5 start to 35 to 19 at the half.
More scoring was yet to come from these two and the team as well. West Point got 37 in the 2nd half, 21 during the 4th with 24 being divided between Chapman and Shelton.
Three others, PG Vincent, SG Franklin and WF Sutter each would get six points to provide balance for the Warriors to enter Christmas with 10 wins out of 15 games, claiming victory in 5 of their last 6 matchups.
Good Hope was coming off an emotional 61 to 52 OT victory vs. Hanceville. The slow start was too much for Mitch Morris' Raiders to overcome.
McSwain knocked down 28 points in the victory. On Monday, he was slowed up by West Point's trapping zone and did not score a 2nd half FG until he made a pair of threes late with the game well out of reach.
Good Hope did have 9 Raiders to earn scoring honors. But no Raider aside from McSwain was effective in a steady surge.
