GDW Analysis:
Cold Springs can follow the motto of "survive and advance" after Lamar County tried to pull off a huge upset in the sub regional round Saturday evening.
The turning point was early in the 4th when Hallman drove to the basket, scored and was fouled.
His follow through took him into the baseline official that would have an undisclosed injury to his leg.

The official was examined by the Cold Springs/Encore trainer as this would have the game delayed by approximately 10 minutes. The official returned to the floor and gutted out pain in his leg for the remainder of the contest.
Lamar County was leading 39 to 34 when the play happened at 7:26 of the 4th.
From there, the three point play by Hallman inspired the Eagles to close out the game on a 24 to 9 run and see their season get extended into the Northwest Regional next week from Wallace State.
Cold Springs had to deal with Lamar County coming to the Eagles' new gymnasium for the first time and getting comfortable in the quest of going back to Vernon with a huge upset.
The Bulldogs went on a 12 to 2 run in the 2nd, gaining a 24 to 16 advantage.
That changed when the Eagles finally experienced some spirit and went ahead on a dunk by Hill who followed it with a FT for a 3 point play and the Eagles were up at halftime 26 to 24.
Drew Adams' squad used a 10 to 0 surge and seemed to be getting control of their assignment.
That changed completely in the 3rd when Lamar County outscored the Eagles in FGs 6 to 3 and points 15 to 8.
The visitors began the final 8:00 ahead 39 to 34 prior to the 3 point score from Hallman and the official from the Walker County association suffering an injury.
Cold Springs would move the lead to 47 to 41 in a 13 to 2 swing on the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs kept it close until Dickerson went 4 for 4 from the line in the final 31 seconds. That allowed the Eagles to raise the lead to 56 to 48 as they ended the game on a layup at the buzzer by Hill.
Cold Springs converted 7 of 8 from the line in the 4th while Lamar County shot once from the stripe in the last stanza.
The Eagles took down 15 opponents on their own floor this season in Adams' first year with Cold Springs.
Cold Springs has won its last 4 games and has enjoyed its best season since 2020/21 when the posted 22 wins against 6 losses.
The thrill of victory for the Eagles in the sub regional comes a year after Cold Springs lost in the 2025 playoff at home to the Tanner Rattlers.
