Cullman SB wins an extra inning thriller:

Lady 'Cats get by Good Hope in extra inning prep softball:

GDW Analysis:

GOOD HOPE: Cullman and Good Hope carried its softball encounter Monday into extra
innings.
Home runs by Hattie Graham and Reese Hopper in the 8th would be enough For
Cullman to claim a 5 to 4 victory in a rare time for the Lady 'Cats to play at
Good Hope's ballfield.
Two very competitive teams played it the way it was anticipated. Cullman got a
run in the 1st and one in the 2nd for a 2 to 0 lead. Graham had a run scoring
double in the 1st and Taylor Au slapped a single with two outs scoring Brie Voss.
Good Hope cut the lead to 2 to 1 in the 3rd with a single by Molly Johnson scoring
Lexi Steed from 2nd base.
The pitching was stout from that point on. Molly Benefield for Good Hope pitched
5 scoreless innings, allowing Cullman 2 hits from the 3rd through the 7th and no

more runs.
Brooklyn Morton was in the circle for Cullman until the late innings when she
got replaced by Voss.
In the Good Hope 7th, a double from Carly Adams was followed by a double off

the bat of Haley Lay and the game would be tied at 2 to 2 after the inning was
done.
With Au on 2nd in the 8th by the international rule, Graham went deep with
a homer over the fence in left center. After a strikeout, Hooper then belted
her blast and Cullman went into the bottom of the inning ahead 5 to 2.
Steed doubled in Natalie Miller to get a Good Hope run. Campbell Koch singled
to score Steed and got to 2nd on a bad throw from the plate trying to get her

at 2nd.
Koch reached 3rd, but could come in as Voss got the final two outs on a

grounder to short and a pop out to short. Au was playing the position for

coach Lewayne Morton.
The game ended at 6:20 p.m. on a sunny day from Good Hope. The GDW

time of the game was 1 hour, 50 minutes.
