Aggies, Raiders earn recognition before 2025 season starts:

GDW Analysis:
Preseason state football rankings have been released and two local teams have earned recognition statewide.
The Fairview Aggies are 6th in the 5A preseason state poll.
The Good Hope Raiders were placed 9th in the 4A classification.
Both teams enjoyed the 2024 season with berths into the 2nd round of the AHSAA postseason. The Aggies were 10 & 1 a year ago and the Raiders won 10 out of 12 decisions. Both won their regional championship

  George Redding's Aggies and Alan Scott's Raiders have experience coming into the new season and also will have to make some replacements with personnel gone due to graduation.
No other team from the county is on the verge of being ranked by the state sportswriters association.
Some opponents well known to the county are rated in their respective preseason poll.
Hartselle 9th in 6A, Guntersville 8th in 5A, West Morgan 4th in 4A, Winston Co 8th in 2A.
Winston County is to play Cullman in a jamboree game on August 15.
Good Hope has a jamboree game August 22 at No. 2 Pisgah from Class 2A.
