GDW Analysis:
While a tornado watch was outside the Fairview campus, the Lady Aggies were putting up a shooting storm for an entertaining, high scoring victory against Austin from the Decatur area.
A series of runs was a part of this shootout.
Fairview had one to start the game with 17 unanswered after Austin dropped in the first shot of the contest.
The Lady Aggies led 20 to 9 when the 1st ended and held on to a 34 to 20 lead at the half.
Austin then went to work with a 29 point third stanza as Acklin and Billings combined to hit 8 FGs in the period.
The Black Bears would move ahead then the turning play of the contest was a 4 point play from Quick to put Fairview ahead for the rest of the battle.
That made the score 50 to 46.
The 3rd closed out as Fairview went up 58 to 49. Coach Chris Nichols' Lady Aggies went 11 of 12 from the line in the 3rd while Austin made just 6 of 14 visits to the stripe.
A 21 to 11 run in the final 8:00 was good for the Lady Aggies to earn victory, their 5th win in their last 7 games.
Free throws were very much a factor with Fairview 16 of 22 in the 2nd half and Austin just 9 of 25.
Redding had a pure stroke hitting 13 of 14 and nailed 5 FGs from close range for her best game of the season.
Quick would pour in 17 in the 2nd half, scoring 11 during the 3rd.
Nichols started strong by scoring 10 through the half and three made by Harris in the 2nd was big in for her coming off the bench.
