GDW takes a look at important girls' area games on Friday:

West Point, Cold Springs in search of perfect area regular season play:

GDW Analysis:
  Two local girls basketball teams enter the weekend seeking perfection in their respective area.
The West Point Lady Warriors and Cold Springs Lady Eagles have shown superior play against their opponents from AHSAA 5A Area 15 and AHSAA 2A Area 11.
West Point:
  Lady Warriors vs. Russellville Friday in 5A, Area 15.
West Point is 3 & 0 in the area (20 & 1).
Russellville is 1 & 1 in the area.
West Point defeated Russellville in a road game 69 to 48 January 09.
The Lady Warriors have a 20 game winning streak, the best in local girls' basketball.
Tip time is 5:15 p.m. with the game to be live on WKUL FM (92.1).
Cold Springs:
  Lady Eagles at Falkville Friday in 2A, Area 11.
Cold Springs is 3 & 0 in the area (13 & 7)
Falkville is 0 & 3 in the area.
Lady Eagles have claimed the No. 1 seed for the area playoffs in sweeping Winston County.
Cold Springs has a 5 game winning streak.
Tip time from Tom Drake Gymnasium in Falkville is 5:30 p.m.
Cullman:
  Lady Bearcats vs. Mortimer Jordan Friday in 6A, A 13.
Cullman is 1 & 1 in the area.
Mortimer Jordan is 0 & 2.
Cullman has to win in order to stay alive for the No. 1 seed in the area. Jasper leads with a 2 & 0 record.
Jasper plays at Cullman on January 22 in a rematch. Jasper defeated the Lady 'Cats 53 to 37 on January 13.

 Tip time from Bearcat Arena is 5:30 p.m. The game will be carried live on cullmanbearcats.com
Good Hope:
  Lady Raiders are 5 & 0 in AHSAA 4A, Area 13.
Good Hope was scheduled to play West Morgan at home Thursday evening to finish the area schedule.
Good Hope entered the contest 17 & 4, clinching the No. 1 seed for the area playoffs with a 61 to 38 victory over East Lawrence January 13.
Vinemont:
  Lady Eagles have finished AHSAA 3A, Area 11 play at 7 & 1. Vinemont has claimed the area regular season title for the 2nd consecutive season.
Vinemont is 14 & 8 for the year. The Lady Eagles turn their attention to the Cullman County Tournament for earning the No. 2 seed in the pairings.
Vinemont plays Hanceville January 19 at 5:00 p.m. from Wallace State's Tom Drake Coliseum.

 Cullman Christian:
Lady Lions took a 3 & 1 record from AHSAA 1A, Area 14 into a home game Thursday against Meek.
Meek is 5 & 0 in the area standings.
Lady Lions would need to upset Meek, defeat St. Bernard in a rematch with them on January 27 to forge a tie for 1st in area competition.
CCS came into the Meek game with back to back victories in area play over Addison (44 to 30) and St. Bernard (43 to 26).

 Elsewhere:
Fairview, Hanceville, Holly Pond and St. Bernard have been eliminated from the quest of winning the regular season title in their respective area.
