GDW Analysis:
While the West Point Classic has been the main agenda for post-Christmas hoops, four local teams are bound for an event that is up and coming from Limestone County.
Athens High School presents "Border Wars." According to Gameday Weekly, this is the 3rd year of this event prior to celebrating the new year.
The number of participants locally are on the increase with 4 being a part of the festivities for 2025.

As the classic starts Monday, the Lady Bearcats are out to redeem themselves after a 57 to 54 loss to Florence on December 20 at Wallace State, the last time Tammy West's squad had played.
Cullman was 7 of 21 from the FT line in dropping to 12 & 3 on the season.
West Point Lady Warriors take a 14 game winning streak and No. 4 ranking from Class 5A to Limestone County against very solid competition.
Hanceville is just 4 & 8 with the Bulldogs battling a sound unit Monday from Huntsville in Westminster Christian.
Cullman gets back on the floor after the Bearcats last weekend picked up a victory and a loss while playing down in Orlando, Florida.
Cullman has 14 wins in 16 decisions.
