Local teams continue to impact state basketball rankings:
Good Hope girls still 2nd, Cold Springs Eagles soar to No. 3 in 2A:

GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: A week before Christmas 2025 will be celebrated, local basketball teams continue to gain a lot of recognition in the state rankings.
Good Hope Lady Raiders remain 2nd, the highest position of any local squad.
Good Hope has locked in on this spot in Class 4A now for three times the poll has been released to the public.
A 12 & 2 record that includes a 62 to 52 victory last Saturday vs. No. 2 Mars Hill in 3A in a game at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy.
Good Hope plays at West Morgan in an area game Thursday evening and entertains Hanceville Friday to close out the week.
The Cold Springs Eagles have soared all the way to No. 3 in the 2A poll. With new coach Drew Adams, the Eagles have 11 wins, 7 in a row. Cold Springs is at Winston County for an area game Thursday and will meet Marion County Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from Wallace State CC.
West Point Lady Warriors carry a 12 game winning streak and No. 4 ranking from Class 5A to a home battle Friday vs. a winless Hayden Lady Wildcat team.
The game will be carried live on WKUL FM (92.1) at 4:00 p.m.
A big matchup in 3A, Area 13 girls is Friday with No. 6 Vinemont at 9 & 5, playing No. 8 Holly Pond who is 7 & 6. Both are tied for the lead in the area.
Vinemont has lost 2 in a row, the first time for the Lady Eagles to engage this issue in the current season.

Cullman Bearcats climbed to 5th in the 6A poll with the squad this weekend playing down in a classic in Florida.
The Cold Springs Lady Eagles scored a huge 56 to 43 victory at Vinemont Tuesday that has them currently 7th in the 2A rankings.
Not yet in the Top 10 is West Point. The Warriors are 9 & 4 and face a 9 & 1 Hayden team at Jim Boyd Gymnasium Friday on 92.1 FM at 5:15 p.m. Hayden is also unranked.
Vinemont Eagles have lost 2 in a row and stand at 9 & 5 in waiting to face Holly Pond in 3A, Area 13 on Friday from Felton Easterwood Gymnasium and on hollypondbroncos.com
Good Hope Raiders have a 3 game winning streak with the Raiders at No. 7 West Morgan Thursday for first place in 4A, Area 13 play.
Coming to Wallace State Saturday to play includes No. 2 Hubbertville Lions from 1A vs. Belgreen at 9:00 a.m., No. 5 Priceville girls vs. Holly Pond 10:30 a.m., unranked Cullman Lady Bearcats vs. Florence at 12:00 p.m. and 3rd ranked Cold Springs Eagles vs. unranked Marion County at 1:30 p.m.
